Premier League confirms three-year extension to away ticket rule

Premier League clubs have unanimously voted in favour of keeping the £30 price cap on tickets for away supporters for the next three seasons. It has now been in place in the top flight for six seasons, although it didn’t have any effect during the 2020/21 campaign with games being played behind closed doors.

The decision to cap away tickets at £30 is part of the Premier League Away Supporters’ initiative where measures were put in place to benefit match-going fans. Those that follow Leeds United away from home have enjoyed being able to visit some of the best stadia in world football this season after missing out because of the Covid-19-induced measures during the 2020/21 season.

While travel costs are often debated, the cost of £30 for an adult’s away ticket for a game of Premier League football is a great addition. That is especially true when considering that away tickets during the 2019/20 Championship promotion campaign were often more expensive than £30 for adults.
