A pregnant woman 'collapsed' as hundreds of passengers were left waiting on a plane for hours in scenes of chaos at Manchester Airport. A fault with a Cathay Pacific flight caused two other planes to become stranded behind it for hours on the taxiway on December 15.
The knock-on effect meant that a Brussels Airlines flight to Brussels and a TUI flight to Cape Verde were both waiting behind the Cathay Pacific aircraft, that had been due to fly to Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific later issued an apology and confirmed that the affected plane is being inspected by engineers.
One passenger on board the Brussels Airlines flight told of how customers were sat on the taxiway for almost six hours due to the fault with the Cathay Pacific flight and were only offered water free of charge. The flight was due to depart at around 12.30pm, before becoming stuck.
