A pregnant woman has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Jennifer Blackwood, of Winskill Road, Liverpool, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Wednesday. She was charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving, and two counts of driving under the influence of drugs.
A court heard that on January 30, 2022, Blackwood, 32, allegedly drove a motor vehicle on Brownlow Hill, L69, while under the influence of Benzoylecgonine, a breakdown of cocaine, and Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, found in cannabis.

She also allegedly caused the death of Barbara Jones by dangerous driving on the same date on the same road. Blackwood, who is pregnant, will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on March 1.
