Sam Faiers is planning to convert her brand new dining room into a birthing suite so she can welcome her next child from inside her favourite room in the house.
The 31-year-old Mummy Diaries star is set to welcome her third child with 33-year-old longterm boyfriend Paul Knightley in just two months time.
The couple already share two children – with a six-year-old son named Paul and a four-year-old daughter named Rosie – and are keeping themselves busy by renovating a brand new house for the growing family while Sam is busy being pregnant.
The ex-TOWIE star has realised that she will have moved in to her new home by the time baby number three is due, and has given an update on her plans to have a home birth with a birthing pool.
Sam explained that she’s already picked out which room in her brand new house will be the one she gives birth in.
She said on The Sam & Billie Show podcast: “The home birth will be in the new house. The dining room is quite nice. I think we won’t put very much in there. We will just make it like a birthing suite.
Sister Billie asked: “Are you going to have the pool?”
Sam confirmed: “Yes, definitely. I need to order that, actually. The midwife said to order that.”
Sam then went on to explain the top tip she was given in order to ensure the room she plans to give birth in doesn’t end up swimming in water as she plans her water birth at home.
She said: “Do you know what else the midwife said? She was like; ‘Do you know what is a good one to get?’ Because I said I have had a home birth before but we just had the pool and a load of our own towels and stuff.
“And she said: ‘Oh, get some shower curtains from Wilkinsons. They do white shower curtains and you can just lay them out everywhere, if you’ve got a nice carpet’.”
Astonished, Billie then gasped: “Really?”
Sam then continued: “And I was thinking, actually if I have got carpet at that point it’s protecting them. [The midwife] was like ‘they’re a fiver each or something so you could just cover the floor in shower curtains’.”
Billie then, sounding deep in thought, said again: “Oh really.”
Billie then recalled: “Your house where you had Rosie had wooden floors. We didn’t even have to think.”
Recalling the home birthing of her four year old child herself, Sam said: “I wasn’t really that messy, though. Because I was in the water. There wasn’t much… I got out the pool and then lay on the floor with all them towels.”
She then added: “I can’t believe in less than two months, well around two months, the baby’s going to be here.”
