Lucy Fallon has shared a handy hack she has come up with while packing her hospital bag ready for her son's arrival into the world. The former Coronation Street star is just weeks away from her due date after announcing she was expecting her first child back in September.
Blackpool-born Lucy, 23, revealed the news of her pregnancy with footballer boyfriend Ryan Ledson at five months pregnant. Lucy went public with her relationship with Ryan in June 2021. Love blossomed for the couple during lockdown after they met on celebrity dating app Raya.
The romance came after Lucy, who starred as Bethany Platt in Corrie split from 2015 to 2022, split, from her boyfriend of four years Tom Leech. And Lucy and Preston North End midfielder Ryan's joyous baby news came Lucy suffered a tragic miscarriage early last year.
The couple had gone for a private scan when Lucy was seven weeks for some early reassurance after the news came as a "massive shock and surprise." After being referred to hospital they were dealt the devastating blow that Lucy had miscarried.
Announcing they were expecting again, months after Lucy took a test in the Maldives, the parents-to-be said they were "very fortunate" that it happened again for them.
Now, the couple are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby, who they revealed was a boy last month. Having kept her followers in the loop with her pregnancy, Lucy shared a video to Instagram of her preparing her hospital bag.
And Lucy appears to have discovered the perfect way to make sure you have remembered as much as you can while also saving on space. "Better late than never," she penned alongside an image of her unborn child's clothes and blankets spread out into zip-up bags.
The former soap star then subsequently shared videos of herself going through each bag, telling fans the contents of them. Heard from behind the camera, Lucy said: "I've got a pram bag that I'm packing all of his things in. I just thought I'd show you [as] I've been asked quite a lot so I'm just going to go through it all quickly."
She shared how the first bag had been filled with "quite a lot of white newborn vests" and said that she hadn't packed different sizes, explaining: "I've had a lot of growth scans so we know how big he's gonna be. So I'm not gonna take any bigger sizes."
She also showed bags containing muslins, sleepsuits and a special bag containing her baby boy's a "coming home outfit". But Lucy did say that if she ends up having to stay in hospital then her Ryan, 25, could get more things as their home is "10 minutes away" from the hospital.
Lucy also briefly showed another bag, which comprised of two cardigans. One of them was white, whilst the other was blue and featured a fluffy cloud detail. Covering part of the cute blue cardigan with her hand, Lucy said: "That has his name on so I'm not showing you," before clarifying: "And his name's not cloud!"
Over the weekend as she marked the New Year, her last before becoming a mum, Lucy took to the time to share a moving message to her unborn son. "2022 brought a mixture of hard & magical moments but the start of 2023 will bring us you and the best is yet to come happy new year everyone x" Lucy wrote on Instagram as she reflected on the past 12 months.
The video montage included the moment Lucy found out she was expecting with a clip of her holding up the positive test. The emotional post also showed tears of joy as she told her loved ones the joyous news and featured a private at-home gender reveal as Preston North End footballer Ryan fired a confetti cannon to reveal a shower of blue tape.
