Pregnant Lucy Fallon reveals game-changing hack that allows her to wear trousers after making maternity clothes complaint

Lucy Fallon has taken to Instagram to share a maternity-wear tip with fans after complaining about having a lack of 'nice' things to wear while pregnant. Yesterday (Friday October 14) the former Coronation Street star, who is expecting her first baby with Preston North End footballer Ryan Ledson, to social media to ask "any brands that have nice maternity clothes?".

She wrote: "Ok so maternity clotes are just not giving me life." She asked with a cryong-face emoji: "Any brands that have nice maternity clothes? I want to dress like myself not like I'm going to a PTFA meeting."

On Saturday she returned to social media to say "I still don't have any clothes and nothing fits me." But she posted a hack on how she's making trousers work for her and her blossoming baby bump.

"I have these pants, they're from H&M and they're size 8. I however, I don't want to be negative, but I'm not a size 8. So I've put this bobble through here." Lucy, 26, who played Bethany Platt in Coronation Street, then demonstrated how to extend the pants with a hair bobble.

With the bobble threaded around the hook fastener inside the waistband, Lucy then pulled it through the button hole to meet the hook again and zipped up the trousers. "And then I can wear the pants," she announced triumphantly.

In a follow-up clip she added: "Not sure how lonmg I'm allowed to do that for. I am over 24 weeks. If I'm not allowed to do that anymore sombody needs to let me know because I'm going to do that in every single pair of pants I own."

The Blackpool actress revealed the news she was pregnant last month. The couple, whose love blossomed during lockdown after they met on celebrity dating app Raya, announced the news to OK! Magazine, revealing that she they been keeping the news a secret for five months.

The joyous news came after Lucy, who played Bethany in the ITV soap from 2015 to 2020, suffered a tragic miscarriage earlier this year. Lucy and Ryan had gone for a private scan when Lucy was seven weeks for some early reassurance after the news came as a “massive shock and surprise”, but after being referred to hospital they were dealt the devastating blow that Lucy had miscarried.

"It was a traumatising, horrendous time,” she told OK!. "We went for a scan and they couldn’t see anything, so then we went to the hospital and they thought they could see something, so it was very up and down." She explained how she was experiencing classic pregnancy symptoms which were "getting worse". "There were no signs I had had a miscarriage, so that made it more of a shock," Lucy, who then underwent surgery, said.

But Lucy and Ryan are now looking to the future after their devastating experience with their bundle of joy due on February 2, 2023. "We’re very fortunate that it happened again for us," Lucy, who took a pregnancy test while on a trip to the Maldives, said. "We weren’t putting pressure on it and I was trying not to put pressure on myself and then it just ended up happening that way for us. It was obviously just meant to happen."

Lucy went public with her footballer beau in June last year. It was reported they met through fellow soap star Helen Flanagan's fiance Scott Sinclair who also played for The Lilywhites. However, love blossomed for the couple during lockdown after they met on celebrity dating app Raya. It came after Lucy split from her boyfriend of four years Tom Leech.
