Pregnant Laura Anderson makes big decision about unborn baby in bitter blow to ex Gary Lucy

Pregnant Laura Anderson has made an important decision in the wake of her split from her unborn child’s dad Gary Lucy.

When she first announced that she and the former Hollyoaks actor were expecting, she proudly declared: “Our hearts are full. Baby Lucy due Summer ‘23”.

Now, the one-time Love Island star appears to have had a change of heart after he gave a tell-all interview to a tabloid claiming she dumped him after refusing to move to her native Scotland.

In a since-deleted post, Anderson edited her pregnancy announcement and changed the unborn child’s name from Baby Lucy to Baby Anderson.

The update read: “My heart is full. Baby Anderson due Summer ‘23.”

She later released a statement on her Instagram on Wednesday saying: “I had no intention to comment on the breakdown of my relationship with Gary. However, due to what has now been publicly shared by other parties, I have been left with no other choice.

“Gary and I are no longer together due to multiple reasons which will remain private. Our plan was for me to move to Essex to start our family which I was more than happy to do.

“However, since the breakdown of our relationship I have remained at home in Scotland. My priority is bringing my baby up in a calm and stable environment.

She added: “I never asked or expected Gary to move to Scotland. I fully support him living in Essex to be close to his four amazing children.

“I am fully focused on having a healthy, happy pregnancy and remain excited to share this incredible journey with you all. Thank you so much for you support! Laura, Buddy & Bump.”

Anderson and Lucy struck up a relationship while filming E4 show Celebs Go Dating last year.

They decided to call it quits earlier this month as the Footballers’ Wives star explained that he needs to remain in Essex where his children live after he and their mother divorced.

Lucy has two sons and two daughters with his former wife Natasha.

He explained: “Laura did want me to move but I have my responsibilities here. I have four kids and all the things that go along with that so it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to uproot at this time.”

He went on to tell The Sun that while he still loved Anderson, they are no longer together and he hoped that they would be able to co-parent going forward.

He said: “I love Laura but we are no longer together. My main drive as always is to work together to co-parent our child. I look forward to the arrival of the new baby.”
