Gemma Atkinson gave her loyal fans a 'bump update' as she gets closer to the arrival of her second child. She announced back in January that she and her Strictly Come Dancing star fiance Gorka Marquez were preparing to expand their brood and will be welcoming a little boy into the family.
They shared the news alongside a string of black and white images which Gemma and dancer Gorka both posted to their Instagram pages. One image showed Gemma gazing at her blossoming bump before she grinned for a selfie with her husband-to-be and their little girl, Mia, as they wait to become a family of four - or six if you include Gemma's beloved dogs Ollie and Norman.
"Impossible to hide my belly any longer. I’ve officially 'popped'," Gemma wrote in the caption to her millions of followers. "Our baby boy will be joining our family later this year." She has since been keeping her followers updated on her pregnancy journey, having previously confirmed that her son is due in the summer.
Taking to her Instagram Story on Thursday (March 16), Gemma filmed herself in the mirror as she showed off her blossoming bump before heading out to do some dancing. The former Strictly Come Dancing finalist was heading to show her support to TV presenter Gethin Jones.
The Morning Live host is taking part in a 24-hour dancing challenge for Comic Relief ahead of the big telethon on Friday (March 17). The challenge is being broadcast live from the Morning Live Studio as well as streamed on BBC iPlayer and has been inspired by Morning Live's daily dose of dance-inspired exercise, titled Strictly Fitness.
In the clip, Gemma could be seen sporting a crop top with her gym leggings and trainers as she prepared to leave her Greater Manchester home. "Bump update," she said as she pulled down her leggings to set under her belly which popped as she stood posing sideways in the mirror.
"There he is. Growing away," the 38-year-old added as she moved to show her changing body from different angles. "Cooking away like my boobs and bum. Well, my bum is just like... flat now. But yeah, cooking away nicely," she added before previewing some of her dance moves.
Earlier this week, Gemma gave a candid update on her second pregnancy as she shared how her brain function is 'completely different' to how it was when she was pregnant with Mia, who turns four in July. "My brain function this time around is just... I can't tell you. And I'm not doing anything different. It's bizarre. I've lost count of the amount of cups I've dropped and smashed, tripping over my own feet. I tell you!"
She then asked if anyone else has noticed a difference between 'growing a female baby and growing a male baby'. But the mum-of-two-to-be just ended up laughing at one of the responses from her followers.
"I've just read a DM and this woman's put, 'There was no difference with mine, Gemma. I was fat and I felt f***ed with both." As she laughed, Gemma went on to admit: "That's me this time around. I'm fat and I'm well and truly f***ed."
