Superstar goal shooter Gretel Bueta will miss Australia's Netball World Cup campaign after revealing she is pregnant.
Bueta, who has a two-year-old son Bobby with husband Niko, announced the news on social media.
As well as the global showpiece in South Africa in July, Bueta will sit out the upcoming Super Netball season with the Queensland Firebirds.
It's a blow for the world No.1-ranked Diamonds as they look to wrest back the World Cup from New Zealand.
Bueta hasn't played since Australia's Commonwealth Games gold medal victory last year in Birmingham.
The 29-year-old withdrew from Australia's international series against New Zealand and England when she fell pregnant, however in November revealed she had suffered a miscarriage.
Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich congratulated Bueta and her family.
"Gretel showed incredible strength during such a challenging time and we are excited her and Niko are expecting a child this year," Marinkovich said in a statement.
"Gretel remains an important part of the Diamonds family and we will continue to support her throughout her pregnancy."
The Firebirds say they will announce a replacement player in their 2023 SSN contracted list in coming days.
