Mommy-to-be Deepika Padukone debuted her baby bump on the film sets as she headed to shoot for director Rohit Shetty's 'Singham Again'.
The actress, who announced her pregnancy last month, showed off her growing belly for the first time. Fans goot a peek at her bump when she turned up on set in a police uniform to shoot what appeared to be an action sequence for the upcoming film.
Dressed in Khaki with her hair neatly pinned at the back, the actress shot a scene involving several men dressed as goons. However, it appears that measures were taken to shield the actress' pregnant belly behind the high-waist pants and a large belt buckle.
In photos that were shared by fan clubs, the actress could be seen taking instructions from director Shetty and members of the stunt team as they got ready to shoot the fight scene. While DP stepped up to shoot some of her scenes, it was noted that a lady, seemingly a stunt double was also present on the sets.
It is possible that the double was hired to ensure the safety of the pregnant star, especially while shooting some physically demanding scenes. The stunt double was seen sporting the same uniform as Deepika and also matched her hairstyle. She was, however, seen seated at the side, waiting for her turn to shoot after Deepika.
'Singham Again' marks the first time that Deepika will be seen playing a cop on the big screen. She joins Rohit Shetty's cop universe as 'Lady Singham' aka police officer Shakti Shetty.
The first look poster featured Deepika seated atop a pile of bodies with a burning building in the background. With a pistol in hand and a menacing gaze, director Shetty shared that her character embodied qualities of both Sita and Durga.
The filming of 'Singham Again' commenced in Hyderabad last year and features an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn reprising his lead role, alongside Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff.
With a scheduled release date of August 15, 2024, anticipation is high for this action-packed venture that promises to deliver thrills and excitement to audiences.
Meanwhile, on the personal front, Deepika is awaiting the arrival of her first child with Ranveer Singh this September.
