A couple abandoned their plush wedding venue and had to say 'I do' in a hospital after the bride suddenly went into labour on their big day.
Happy couple Nicole and Marc thought they had plenty of time to get hitched before her due date.
But baby daughter Lieke arrived five weeks before she was due and their plan to get wed before becoming parents was thrown out the window.
They had to perform a quick u-turn after the new arrival popped out on 26th October at around 2am.
The wedding - which had been planned for that day - was finally carried later in the day at the Albert Schweitzer hospital, in the city of Dordrecht, in the Netherlands.
The happy couple - whose family name has not been reported - finally tied the knot in the hospital's prayer room.
They had already planned a small wedding and their guests simply drove to the hospital instead of the original venue.
The civil registry officer even went to the hospital to make it all official.
They reportedly told the couple: "You never have to forget your wedding date. From now on, it will always be a double celebration on this day."
The hospital said in a statement: "Bride and groom Nicole and Marc thought their wedding date was quite long before the birth of their daughter.
"Baby Lieke thought otherwise. Last night, on 26th October, just before 2am, she was born unexpectedly and five weeks early.
"But prosperous and healthy. Mother was also doing well, so nothing stood in the way of the wedding ceremony going ahead."
The hospital added: "Now that Lieke is already here, we are also happy that everything has been safely arranged for her without delay."
Both mother and daughter are reportedly doing well.
