Prediction and betting odds for MSU Basketball vs. North Carolina on Wednesday

Michigan State basketball will play one final game in Maui on Wednesday night against powerhouse program North Carolina.

The Spartans fell in yesterday’s semi-finals matchup against Memphis, but will still have the pleasure of facing another big-time opponent in the Tar Heels. Michigan State is now 5-2 overall on the year following the loss to Memphis.

North Carolina is also looking to rebound from a loss on Tuesday, with the Tar Heels being outclassed by hot Auburn in the semi-finals. North Carolina is 4-2 overall on the year, with a common loss as the Spartans to No. 1 Kansas.

Michigan State vs. North Carolina prediction, pick

Michigan State should keep this one a lot closer than when these two teams last met in last year’s NCAA Tournament. But I again fear the Spartans’ inconsistent (and often down-right-bad this year) outside shooting will hinder them in this matchup of power programs. Tar Heels edge out Michigan State late to secure a disappointing trip to Maui for the Spartans.

Prediction: Michigan State 73, North Carolina 79
