Prediction and betting odds for MSU Basketball vs. Memphis on Tuesday

Michigan State basketball will tangle with the Tigers of Memphis in the Maui Invitational semi-finals on Tuesday evening.

Both the Spartans and Tigers won their opening round matchups on Monday, and now will play for a spot in Wednesday’s championship game. Michigan State is considered the slight favorite in this matchup.

Michigan State comes into this matchup with a 5-1 record and wins in its last three games. The Spartans’ lone loss was against Kansas in the Champions Classic.

Memphis is a perfect 5-0 on the year, with notable victories over Missouri, at UNLV, at San Fransisco and UConn in the Maui Invitational first round. The Tigers appear to be a clear favorite in the American Athletic Conference this season.

Michigan State vs. Memphis prediction, pick

Memphis is legit good, and I see this game being a battle of great defense vs. great offense. With the Tigers having to put forth more energy in their first round upset of UConn, I’m going to lean towards the Spartans here. But this feels like another toss-up — and that’s assuming Michigan State finally starts hitting some three-point shots…

Prediction: Michigan State 78, Memphis 72
