Predicted Rangers XI vs Motherwell as Malik Tillman ready to emerge from cold storage

When it rains it pours for Gio van Bronckhorst and the growing Rangers injury list is the latest leaky tap the Dutchman has to deal with before facing Motherwell.

It's back to Scottish Premiership duty for Rangers after a bruising week of European action, but the Ibrox players will be desperate to put the thumping 7-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool behind them at Fir Park as they look to keep pace with leaders Celtic. Ange Postecoglou's men hold a five point advantage at the top having trounced Hibs at Celtic Park, and Van Bronckhorst will be hoping for a similarly comfortable margin of victory in Lanarkshire.

However, they will have to do it without the usually ever-present Connor Goldson in defence with the centre-back facing months on the sidelines after picking up a thigh injury during the midweek Champions League action. Midfielder Ryan Jack is also facing another spell in the treatment room having been hampered by injuries throughout his Light Blues career.

It leaves Van Bronckhorst with a decision to make over his centre-back pairing, but worries have been eased over Ben Davies who looks to be fit following an injury scare after Liverpool. Leon King or James Sands are likely to fill the void left by mainstay Goldson.

Long-term absentees Alex Lowry, John Souttar, Kemar Roofe, Filip Helander, Tom Lawrence and Ianis Hagi all remain on the sidelines for the clash at Fir Park. Glen Kamara missed the Champions League clash with Liverpool with a minor knock and could make his return to the squad.

He offers another options to replace injured midfielder Jack. However, Malik Tillman could also emerge from cold storage in the starting line-up reshuffle after being left on the bench for the last two games.

Up front, Alfredo Morelos and Antonio Colak appear to be running on a game by game rotation. However, with Premier Sports Cup action offering another chance to swap the duo on Wednesday the Ibrox boss could show faith in Colak after his thankless task against Liverpool.
