Even without Josh McDaniels, you can’t take the New England Patriots out of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Cornerback Jack Jones is the latest former Patriots player to get picked up by the Raiders, reportedly. Per the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the former fourth-round draft pick was claimed off waivers by Las Vegas.
Garafolo confirmed the news through Jones’ agent on Tuesday.
The move reunites Jones with Antonio Pierce, who was his former head coach at Long Beach Poly High School and associate head coach/defensive coordinator at Arizona State.

It’s a great landing spot for the 25-year-old defensive back considering the bond he’s developed with Pierce stemming all the way back to his childhood. There’s no denying Jones’ talent on the football field when he’s locked in. The issue for the Patriots have related more to the off-field drama surrounding the player.
If anyone can get the most out of Jones at this point, it would be Pierce and the Raiders.
