With just seven games to go in the Premier League season, Manchester United are still just about in the race for the top four – although their hopes are fading fast.

United's dismal season looks set to deliver very little, with their pre-season title ambitions quickly being replaced by a fight just to qualify for next season’s Champions League. And even that is looking beyond them at this point.

What has been a dire campaign from United hit a new low on Saturday as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at relegation-threatened Everton. With just seven games now left in the season, their hopes of reaching the Premier League’s top four are hanging by a thread.
