Double Dragon is a beat 'em up video game series that was first released as an arcade game in 1987. It became a hit and started what many would call the "Golden Age" for the beat 'em up genre. As a result, a lot of similar games came out within the late 1980s and all the way to the 1990s. Initially created by Technōs Japan, the rights were acquired by Arc System Works in June 2015.
