Supermarket fashion lines have been competing on the high street in the battle for fashionistas attention for some time. Stylish items from the likes of George at Asda, Tesco's F&F brand and Sainsbury's Tu clothing have all been calling out to us as we do our weekly shop.
An item from one of these stores has caught the attention of influencers. It's a pink puff sleeved poplin midi dress. Taking to Instagram to promote the summer dress, Sainsbury's Tu clothing line said: "It's the dress you need this summer!" It was accompanied by four pictures of influencers wearing the fashion brand.
The post went on to read: "How gorgeous do @carolinesstylehacks, @carolem_beauty, @stripeycoral and @fashionabell_ look in the Pink Puff Sleeve Poplin Midi Dress? And it's just £22." The quartet of influencers showing it off have a combined 160 thousand followers between them, according to Liverpool Echo.

Due to its popularity, the advertised product is now out of stock on the Tu website. The retailer describes the dress as “made from pure cotton, this poplin midi dress in a bold pink hue with puff sleeves is an eye-catching style for the season ahead". Sainsbury's said the dress could be teamed with "a denim jacket and a pair of chunky white trainers”.
It has received positive reviews on its website, and a clean sweep of five stars. Among the comments left include “love this dress fits nice over bust and very flattering”. One person wrote: “I bought a size 16 and it fits true to size.
"Very comfortable to wear, dresses up or down! Looks great with sandals or trainer type shoes. Ironing is a task but very worth it as it didn’t crease too much when worn. Love it!"
Replying to the Instagram post, one of the foursome, @stripeycoral, said: “Thank you! It’s such a great summer dress." One Instagram commenter added: “It’s so gorgeous”. Another added: "Gorgeous ladies. Love the dress." While a third said: “Found one today in my local Sainsbury's! Could not believe my luck.”
