NEW DELHI: The Indian men's chess team, which includes World Cup silver medalist GM Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa and three other quarter-finalists, will have a four-day tactical camp beginning on August 30.

The Hangzhou-bound men's squad includes Grandmasters Vidit Gujarathi, Arjun Erigaisi, and R Gukesh, as well as veteran Pentala Harikrishna.

Head coach and veteran GM Boris Gelfand leads the team, which also features coach Srinath Narayanan and assistant coaches Vaibhav Suri and Arjun Kalyan.

The women's coaching camp is now underway and includes Koneru Humpy, Harika Dronavalli, Vaishali Rameshbabu, Vantika Agrawal, and Savitha Shri B.

"AICF's commitment is etched in unwavering support and cutting-edge facilities for our players," AICF president Sanjay Kapoor stated in a release.

"This coaching camp stands as a testament to that commitment, providing an immersive experience that delves deep into strategy and finesse, enriching players' abilities in anticipation of the Asian Games scheduled in Hangzhou."

The camp will take place on the eve of the fifth edition of the Tata Steel Chess India rapid and blitz competition, which will be held in Mumbai from August 31 to September 9.

All members of India's Asian Games squad will compete in the tournament, which will also feature previous World Blitz winner Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and reigning World winner Wenjun Ju.
