Prabhas debuts NEW 'Kalki 2898 AD' look in promo ad; fans think he looks like 'Batman'

Prabhas treated his fans to a new look from his upcoming film 'Kalki 2898 AD' in an advertisement for a cricket match.

The ad gave the audience a closer look at his costume and interesting details of his body armour along with the various signs and symbols that will be explained in the upcoming Nag Ashwin sci-fi film. Unlike his other posters and first look images, this one saw him rocking a long leather trench coat with a metal breastplate, a utility belt and gloves.

The new look, paired with the actor's long hair and stubble, sent fans into flashback mode with some stating that it was reminiscent of his Baabubai days.

Besides that, many drew parallels between Prabhas' Kalki costume to the iconic superhero 'Batman.' Upon viewing the details of Prabhas' costume in the promo, a notable number of fans couldn't help but remark on the striking resemblance to the DC Comics character, Batman. Actor Ben Affleck was seen rocking a similar costume in Zack Snyder's Justice League. Others thought that his body armour looked much like Robert Pattinson's suit in director Matt Reeves' 'The Batman'.

Over the weekend, the makers dropped the new poster, also featuring Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan. Shortly after the poster release, fans took to their handles to talk about the uncanny resemblance between Deepika in the 'Kalki' poster and Zendaya in the sci-fi epic 'Dune'. Some even swore that they thought the Bollywood beauty was in fact Zendaya at first glance.

Nevertheless, the overall response remained one of excitement and anticipation as audiences eagerly await further updates and insights into the many characters who will be introduced in the film.

'Kalki 2898 AD' also stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in lead roles. After multiple delays, the film will finally hit theatres on June 26.
