Majority of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) employees on Monday participated in the national strike called by various trade unions.
Only 22.5% of the officers and 7.5% of other employees marked their attendance.
Employees who participated in the strike cooperated with the management to attend to power supply-related complaints, the KSEB said. The KSEB director board reviewed the power situation around noon.
Up to 7 p.m., 59.8 million units of electricity was supplied in the State. No shortage was reported.
Engineer suspended
Meanwhile, an executive engineer attached to the Thiruvananthapuram division was suspended from service for failing to report for duty for over a week without applying for leave or obtaining permission. An investigation by the KSEB Chief Vigilance Officer found that, Jasmine Banu, the executive engineer, had travelled out of the State, the KSEB said.
