Sam Powell-Pepper's AFL career resurgence has been rewarded with a two-year contract extension, tying him to Port Adelaide until the end of 2025.
Powell-Pepper's time at the Power was in danger of coming to an end in 2021 after poor form and questionable dedication saw him fall out of favour.
But the 25-year-old rebounded strongly last year, playing every game and booting 24 goals to finish second in the club's goalkicking.
The former midfielder also showed his versatility by playing in the ruck at times.
West Coast expressed interest in signing Powell-Pepper at the end of 2021, but the 114-gamer is all in at Port for the long haul.
"I love everything about being at Port Adelaide - the history, the culture and especially the people," Powell-Pepper said.
"I've built my life in Adelaide with my family, and I have strong friendships within the playing and coaching group as well as outside of footy.
"The club has helped me grow into the person I am today, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue that growth around a group that is driven for success."
Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps praised Powell-Pepper's maturity and development over recent years.
"Sam, to his credit has worked hard on himself and was rewarded last season, being one of our more consistent players and finishing fifth in the best and fairest," Cripps said.
"We love his willingness to hunt the ball and keep it in our forward line, and he is also contributing more on the scoreboard."
Meanwhile, Port are hopeful Jeremy Finlayson will be fit for round one despite the former GWS forward requiring ankle surgery.
Finlayson suffered a syndesmosis injury at training on Wednesday after his left ankle got caught under a teammate as he was tackled.
Despite the setback, the 26-year-old is expected to be available for the club's season opener against the Brisbane Lions on March 18.
Finlayson was forced to play predominantly in the ruck in his first campaign at Port after Scott Lycett went down with a serious injury.
