Post Malone 's dad has insisted that his son is the "healthiest he has been in years", while a source close to the star has said he is "happy and healthy", amid growing concerns amongst fans who noticed his dramatic weight loss during a recent performance.
The Congratulations hitmaker, 27, worried his followers after he appeared to "jerk" while performing I Fall Apart during a gig in Sydney, Australia, with some commenting on his weight loss.
Footage shared online sparked several comments about his appearance amid dozens worried about the chart-topping musician – including a follow-up from his father.
"Just saw a video of Post Malone in a show. He looks bad," tweeted one follower recently. "Jerking and looks like he lost weight."
"I hope he’s ok. That’s my dude," added the concerned Post Malone fan.
A source close to the musician, real name Austin Richard Post, has insisted that he is "happy and healthy and nothing is amiss".
They told TMZ that fans should not be concerned and that "he’s not on drugs or sick".
He reportedly gained weight recently for a movie role, but now the insider claims that Post is "adhering to a strict diet and working out".
The Mirror has contacted Post's representatives for a comment.
His father Rich Post recently replied to one concerned follower on Instagram, explaining: "Healthiest he’s been in years! Mentally and physically."
The news comes after he added to his inkings by getting a new face tattoo.
He is well known for his markings and added another piece of art to his collection earlier last year as he paid tribute to his baby daughter.
Post added a set of initials in gothic type font to his forehead before his tattoo artist shared the design on Instagram.
TMZ reports the letters - DDP - are the initials of the star's daughter, whom he welcomed to the world earlier this year. He is yet to announce the tot's name, however.
Tattooist Chad Rowe uploaded a snap of his latest work to his social media alongside the caption: "It’s been a few years since @postmalone and I have been able to link up.
"So when he was in town , we had to make it happen. It really doesn’t ever feel real. And for the trust of such and important tattoo is a huge honor."
He continued: "Thanks for being such an amazing person, artist, and friend, Austin.
"I’m so blessed to not just have a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity, but to have a lifetime of opportunities . And to share it with my favorite people."
