Portsmouth are interested in a deal for Jonathan Afolabi, according to a report.
The English League One outfit are in the market for new recruits ahead of the new campaign and it's understood Blues boss Danny Cowley is weighing up a move for the 22-year-old striker. Celtic snapped him up from Southampton three years ago but he was unable to break into the first-team set-up and spent time out on loan at Dunfermline and Dundee before joining Ayr United last summer.
His last action in Scotland came at Airdrie in Scottish League One, where he scored three goals in 15 appearances. He was part of the Diamonds team that fell just short of promotion to the Scottish Championship via the play-offs. They lost out to ambitious southsiders Queen's Park in the final over two-legs. However, things look on the up for the striker with Pompey looking to bring him on board say Hampshire Live. Afolabi has been on trial at the club, and scored and notched an assist in their 2-0 friendly win over Qatar SC in Spain on Saturday.

Portsmouth play four more friendly outings against fellow English opposition before getting their league campaign up and running.
They face Sheffield Wednesday on matchday one of the new season and could have former Celtic man Afolabi in their ranks by then.
Cowley also remains interested in former Barnsley striker Victor Adeboyejo, who is also available on a free after rejecting fresh terms at the club.
It's understood Championship outfit Reading are leading the race to sign him.
