Portugal left it late but were crowned Nations League champions after producing a flawless penalty shootout to confound Spain at the Allianz Arena.
The Selecao twice came from behind to force extra time thanks to equalisers from Nuno Mendes and Cristiano Ronaldo, before goalkeeper Diogo Carlos made himself a hero in the shootout, saving from Alvaro Morata to hand Ruben Neves the opportunity to seal the tie. He would make no mistake, sending Unai Simon the wrong way to secure Portugal’s second Nations League triumph.
