Porto make major Luis Diaz transfer decision after Fabio Paratici eyes Tottenham move

Porto have rejected a £37.6million offer from Tottenham for winger Luis Diaz, according to reports.

football.london brought you the news on Tuesday afternoon that Spurs had enquired about the availability of the 25-year-old wide man, who has massively impressed for the Portuguese club this season.

Now, according to a report from The Guardian, Tottenham have seen a £37.6million offer turned down from Porto, with Antonio Conte determined to strengthen his squad before next Monday's transfer deadline.

Diaz has a release clause of around £66million in his contract with Porto, according to reports, with Tottenham needing to pay closer to that if they wish to land his signature.

The Colombia international is currently on duty with the South American country ahead of their matches with Peru and Argentina in a few days' time.

The stance of Diaz is still unknown at the moment, but Tottenham are trying their best to convince Porto in the mean time as Conte looks for another attacker to add to his options.

Spurs remain in talks with Adama Traore and Wolves over a possible move this month, but football.london understands that Tottenham have not made an official move for the Spaniard just yet.

Traore wants the move, though, and Spurs hope if they keep pushing Wolves, then they may be more willing to accept a cut-price offer.

Conte's stance on transfers

Conte has not been shy in expressing his desire for Tottenham to sign some new players since he was appointed as manager back in November.

The Italian coach said this earlier in the month: "I know that the transfer window in January is always very difficult and it is more simple when you start the season to buy important players.

"In January, it is not easy but at the same time, we know very well that if there is the opportunity and also if it's not the best opportunity, but we need to do something.

"Also if I repeat that this could not be the best opportunity but I think that we are in a situation where we have to try to improve the squad because the squad is not so big."
