Portadown have announced that Sammie McLeod has been released from his contract due to "personal circumstances".
The midfielder - who joined on a free transfer last summer - has returned home, the Ports confirmed.
In a brief statement, the Shamrock Park club said: "Portadown Football Club can confirm this morning that unfortunately due to personal circumstances Sammie McLeod has asked to be released from his contract to enable him to be at home.
"We wish him all the best in the future."
McLeod was previously with Leicester City's academy and also had spells at clubs including Colchester and Concord Rangers.
He was ever-present for Matthew Tipton this season, making 20 appearances in the Danske Bank Premiership and scoring three goals.
McLeod was an unused substitute for Saturday's draw with Coleraine. His last appearance was in the 2-0 win over Limavady United in the Irish Cup on January 8.
