A Porsche was spotted racing a BMW at speeds of more than 140 miles per hour, police have revealed.
The luxury car was discovered racing a BMW in Sefton by Merseyside Traffic Police at speeds topping more than 140 miles an hour before being identified by ANPR. It was then stopped in Salford.
Police shared that the Porsche was actually being used as a courtesy car.

Greater Manchester Traffic Police confirmed that the Porsche was taken off the driver by the courtesy car company. The driver has since reported court, said the force.
"This Porsche was seen racing a BMW in Sefton by [Merseyside Traffic Police] at speeds of 140mph+. Vehicle identified by ANPR and stopped today in Salford. As it's a courtesy car, company contacted and they requested vehicle be taken off the driver.
"Driver reported to court," tweeted GMP Traffic.
