A fast food restaurant chain which is taking the UK by storm will make its Scotland debut in Ayrshire.
Ayrshire Live can exclusively reveal that Slim Chickens is coming to the grounds of one of Ayrshire’s best-known holiday parks.
Slim Chickens is a southern themed fast-casual restaurant chain which specialises in chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, salads, wraps, waffles, shakes and other tasty items.
And they boast more than 15 different, but distinctive, dipping sauces to go with their mouth watering offering.
There’s nearly 30 Slim Chickens restaurants around the UK including venues at London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Brighton, Southampton, Exeter, Leicester, Liverpool and Cardiff.
So far, there are none in Scotland.
However, that is going to change after news today than a planning application for a new restaurant at Craig Tara Holiday Park, near Ayr, has been green lighted.
Ayrshire Live can further reveal that the application, submitted to South Ayrshire Council’s planning department, also involves a part change of use of the holiday park’s existing reception area - to transform it into Scotland’s first Slim Chickens restaurant.
The applicants are Haven, who own the holiday park.
Haven said in their description of the proposals: “The existing reception area within the main complex building at Haven Craig Tara is to be turned into a Slim Chickens restaurant.
“To make this possible a new entrance has been proposed which connects the internal customer area to the main external pathway which runs past the building and to the other site facilities.”
The mission statement from Slim Chickens says: “Our mission was (and is) simple; to make the best hand breaded chicken tenders using only the freshest ingredients, served in a friendly atmosphere where people can relax and feel at home.”
Online takeaway orders from Slim Chickens at Craig Tara should also be available, now that the plans are approved.
