Legendary Lanarkshire music festival Stereofunk will no longer take place at Strathclyde Country Park organisers have announced.
After 15 years at the Motherwell venue, the live gig will move to the iconic Chatelherault Country Park this April.
Revellers will be treated to an afternoon of music with none other than nineties cult favourites, The Vengaboys, headlining the hugely popular festival.
And you can bet your bottom dollar the Dutch Eurodance group will bring their 90s hits 'Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,' 'We Like to Party' , and 'We Are Going to Ibiza' to the new venue on Saturday, April 30.
Over 60 DJs and live acts - including DJ Sammy, JX, Rui Da Silva, Ultra Sonic, Dream Frequency, Flip and Fill, Ultrabeat, Micky Modelle and Clyde 1 DJ George Bowie - will play across four platforms in this one day spectacular running from 12pm to 10.30pm.
Stereofunk organisers are delighted to be back in business following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
They told Lanarkshire Live "After a two year break we are over the moon to be back doing what we love and as the country returns to normality we’re busy behind the scenes planning our biggest event yet.
"And we are delighted to finally let people know about our new venue - the amazing Chatelherault Country Park - less than a five minute journey from Strathclyde Park and set against the romantic background of an 18th century hunting lodge.
"It’s the perfect setting for a music festival and a place we could only have dreamed of aspiring to all those years ago when we ran our first event at Strathclyde Park.
"We’d like to thank everyone who helped make Stereofunk a success at Strathclyde Park over the years - contractors, council staff , park staff , event staff, suppliers ,traders, sound companies, security, police, fire, first aid the list goes on and on.
"But most of all we’d like to thank all the people who attended over the years and bought tickets to support the event on our journey as we grew.
"In particular we would like to thank everyone who held on to their tickets throughout the COVID period.
"All previously purchased tickets for our cancelled events throughout the COVID period are still valid for Stereofunk 2022.
"We’ve also added a limited amount of extra tickets but these won’t last forever! Be part of something special … the first ever Stereofunk at Chatelherault Country Park!"
