A restaurant in Leeds has announced it is having to close its doors, four years after opening. The Black Market restaurant in Chapel Allerton made the announcement in an Instagram post on Monday evening.
Black Market said it is saddened to have to tell people of the closure, thanking customers over the years for their support and friendship. The restaurant will be replaced with Cat's Pyjamas, a popular Indian chain which had its first venue in Headingley.
The specific details of why The Black Market is closing are unknown. The post, which has since received over 140 likes reads: "It saddens us to have to inform you that with just over four years of serving you lovely people we've had to finally close our doors due to circumstances! But it definitely is not the end for us.

"Thank you so much for all of your support, laughter and friendship that you have brought through the black market doors, I will miss it all! I would like to wish Cat's Pyjama's all the best because they truly do have a beautiful restaurant with bags of potential! Lots of love from the Black Market team, Watch this space. Xx"
Customers reached out in the comments of the post, wishing the owners the best and saying it was "sad news" that the restaurant was having to close.
Jen said: "Oh guys, I’m absolutely gutted to see you leave chapel allerton. You've been our most favourite place for both your amazing food and fabulous cocktails. Really hope to see you again in another location just loved coming lots of love xxx"
Another person commented: "Really sad about this. Wish you all the best in the future and hope to see you open somewhere soon."
