A popular Italian restaurant in County Durham has announced it is closing its doors for good after eight and a half years. Salvo's café, pizzeria, and trattoria on Duke Street, Darlington, confirmed the news on Saturday evening.
In a statement on its Facebook page, Salvo's café said Saturday was its last operational day before the restaurant was permanently closed. They have not provided a reason for the closure but said they will miss all their staff and customers.
Salvo's café went on to thank its customers and staff for their support during their "rollercoaster" ride. The statement said: "We are sorry to announce that tonight was our last night. We unfortunately are closing our Darlington restaurant.
