Popular Edinburgh pub named as 'best in the Lothians' by Visit Scotland

A popular Edinburgh pub has been named the 'best in the Lothians' by Visit Scotland after it beat out hundreds across the city and beyond.

Teuchters Landing in Leith was given the honorary title this week after they received a Scottish Thistle Award for their top quality pints, food and views.

Known to be a staple of the Shore and boasting a stunning beer garden looking out over the water, the venue were praised as being "the very best of Scotland's tourism and events industry", as they took home the title.

Taking place on Thursday evening, the awards ceremony saw a host of other Edinburgh businesses recognised for their hard work, with the Waldorf Astoria also winning the best hotel experience.

The 'best eatery experience' was bagged by local restaurant Cafe St Honore, as well as Camera Obscura winning the best visitor attraction experience.

Speaking about the awards, Steven Walker, Chair of the Scottish Thistle Awards industry panel said: “Congratulations to all of the winners at the Lothian & Borders Regional Final of the Scottish Thistle Awards. The Scottish Thistle Awards shine a spotlight on the very best of Scotland’s tourism and events industry, celebrating the businesses and individuals who have worked tirelessly in the last two years to create the fantastic destination and visitor experiences that Scotland is famous for.

“The Scottish Thistle Awards mark an important celebration as we move towards recovery from the pandemic and support the ambition of Outlook 2030, for Scotland to be a world leader in 21st century tourism.

“I wish the regional winners the best of luck as they continue to the Scottish Thistle Awards National Final next year.”
