Recently, the Pope has once again found himself at the center of controversy due to his comments regarding gay individuals. Italian media reported that during a meeting with Italian bishops on May 20, the Pope used a derogatory term that translates to a vulgar word for homosexuality in English.
During a subsequent meeting with Roman priests, the Pope allegedly reiterated his use of the term, stating that there was an inappropriate atmosphere in the Vatican and suggesting that young men with homosexual tendencies should not be allowed to enter the seminary.
