Pope Francis cancels weekly prayer appearance as 88-year-old Pontiff spends third day in hospital with bronchitis

Pope Francis, 88, spent a third day in hospital on Sunday, forcing him to miss his regular weekly apperance in the Vatican’s famous St Peter’s Square.

The Vatican said the Pontiff was in a stable condition and that treatment was ongoing after he was admitted to hospital earlier this week with a respiratory tract infection.
