Pop Idol star Michelle McManus gives birth to second child and shares adorable name

Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus has shared the happy news that she has given birth to a baby boy.

The 41-year-old Pop Idol winner shared on Twitter that she and husband Jeff Nimmo welcomed their second son into the world in January.

Sharing the news on Twitter today, Tuesday 1 February, Michelle wrote: "Goodbye January although I don’t know how any other month this year could top you as you’re the month we welcomed the newest addition to our family."

Revealing the newborn's name, she continued: "Please say hello to Nicholas Peter Nimmo. Thank you for completing our family and our world. Love Mummy, Daddy & Harry."

Michelle shared the caption alongside an image of baby Nicholas sleeping while dressed in a cute blue and white outfit.

Her first son, Harry, was born at the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital in Glasgow, shortly before lockdown in January 2020.

In November, the singer announced she was expecting a second child with Jeff - who she tied the knot with in 2017 in a stunning ceremony held in the Scottish Highlands.

Announcing that she was expecting in November 2021, the Pop Idol winner posted a picture on Instagram of her with husband Jeff Harry, alongside the caption: "Harry playing peekaboo with mummy, daddy and bump, baby Nimmo number two due early 2022."

Scottish star Michelle found fame on Pop Idol, more than 17 years ago, when she was 23 years old.

Michelle won the second and final series of Pop Idol in 2003 and has since gone on to carve out a successful career as a singer and TV presenter.
