'Poonamis' and trapped wind 'first smiles' - new card collection celebrates magical baby moments

The highs and lows of the first year of parenting are being celebrated in a new baby card collection. Heinz Family teamed up with Moonpig to mark the 'smilestones' on seven new baby cards.

It could be that first “smile” that’s actually trapped wind, 'poonamis' in public or racking up five hours of uninterrupted sleep for the first time in months. Whether joyful, hilarious or embarrassing, the relatable situations inspired the brands to create the exclusive collection.

The range celebrates the arrival of a first baby, to give parents a taste of what’s to come. Dale Boreham, senior cards design manager for Moonpig, said: “We hope that the likes of the poonami card design or Chundersaurus-rex card will resonate with new parents whilst also bringing back some funny memories to all those who shop the range”.

Manya Gupta, marketing executive for Heinz Family, said their first ever card collection celebrates the "messy reality" of new parenting. "We hope our cards will bring new parents joy and show them that they’re not alone, we understand and we’re all in it together," she added.

The ‘Smilestones’ collection is on sale here. The team is also inviting parents and carers to share their own 'Smilestone' moments and three will win a week’s worth of Heinz Family products and a £100 Moonpig voucher. Head over to their Instagram pages before September 30 to enter.
