An enormous new “AI-powered” pool hall is to open in the City of London early next year.
Poolhouse is the latest concept from the creators of Topgolf and Puttshack, two experiential venues that combine light sports with food and drink.
At Poolhouse, dozens of digital pool tables will be spread across two floors with AI technology that allows players to “adapt” their games.
“Whether you’ve never picked up a cue or you’ve been hustling for years, the tech learns each player’s skill level and adjusts the game difficulty in real time, so everyone’s got a fair shot at glory,” said an announcement sent to the Standard, “...in a premium, high-energy space where competition meets camaraderie.”
The pool hall has been designed with Vegas in mind and its founders described the vision as “retro glamour meets vintage”. Alongside the tables will be a 20-metre “statement bar” as part of a collaboration with the acclaimed cocktail group Three Sheets.
The food menu has not yet been announced but is to be “New American” cuisine designed for sharing. The team also claimed Poolhouse will serve “one of London’s best pints of Guinness” thanks to customised coolers, lines, taps and a specialised gas mix.
