Gorton by-election: Pound dips as City get jitters on threat to Starmer if Labour loses to Reform or Greens

The Pound edged lower as voters went to the polls in the Gorton and Denton by-election amid investors’ worries that a Labour loss could hit Sir Keir Starmer’s premiership.

Shortly after 4pm, Sterling was down 0.39% against the Dollar to $ 1.3504, and 0.22% weaker against the Euro at 0.8731 pence.
