Seahawks fans, it’s time we had a quick chat about a question in the back of everyone’s mind: are you still going to root against Russell Wilson and the Broncos in 2023, or will you hope for a bounce back season for a former beloved player?
Last season, rooting against Wilson and the Broncos became almost as enjoyable – if not perhaps more, for some – as it was rooting for the Seattle Seahawks. Wilson may have been a beloved icon in the Pacific Northwest for a decade, but his exit made it easy to move on from him. With constant drama in the years leading up to the divorce, including a new report alleging Wilson wanted Pete Carroll and John Schneider fired, it didn’t take much to get the 12th Man booing him in Week 1.
Personal feelings aside, it was only logical to root against Denver, as Seattle owned the Broncos’ first round pick for the 2023 NFL Draft.
Now the hay is in the barn. Wilson and Denver were humiliated in a disastrous 2022 campaign, and the Seahawks got the No. 5 overall pick. But the question remains: are you still rooting against Wilson as long as he is a Bronco? Or are you hoping for him to return to form? Let us know in the poll below!
