MUMBAI: Addressing the controversial issue of the “politicization of sport” on the opening day of its 141st Session here on Sunday, the International Olympic Committee warned parties keen on hosting the Olympics in the future to abide by the IOC’s code of ethics or risk putting their candidature in jeopardy.
“With the growing politicization of sport across the world, the universality of the Olympic Games must remain a guiding principle in the election of Olympic hosts,” said IOC member Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
