Politicians across the spectrum and spanning all parties have sent their well wishes to the Queen as concerns grow over her health.
Her Majesty the Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral with doctors concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace has said.
Prince Charles and Camilla are both at the Scottish estate while William, the Duke of Cambridge is on his way to be with his grandmother, along with other members of the Royal Family.
Newly elected Prime Minister of the UK Liz Truss has led well wishes to the monarhc, writing on Twitter: “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.
“My thoughts - and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom - are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”
Ms Truss was on the front bench of the House of Commons when she received the concerning news about the Queen’s health.
Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer - who was also in the House of Commons on Thursday morning when he was passed a note informing him of the developing situation - has also expressed his well wishes.
On Twitter, he wrote: “Along with the rest of the country, I am deeply worried by the news from Buckingham Palace this afternoon. My thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time, and I join everyone across the United Kingdom in hoping for her recovery.”
The White House has said US President Joe Biden’s thoughts are with the Queen and her family.
Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats, added that the “whole nation’s thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family”.

First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon added her “profound” concern.
She wrote: “All of us are feeling profoundly concerned at reports of Her Majesty’s health. My thoughts and wishes are with the Queen and all of the Royal Family at this time.”
Green Party MP for Brighton Pavilion, Caroline Lucas, added: “My thoughts and best wishes are with the Queen and her family on the news of her ill health - wishing her well at this difficult time.”
DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson said there would be an “outpouring of emotion” across Northern Ireland at the news the Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral.
Speaking in Belfast, Sir Jeffrey said: “We are all watching on with increasing alarm and concern about the news that is breaking.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty the Queen and the royal family as they gather at Balmoral.
“I know across Northern Ireland there will be an outpouring of emotion right now.
“The Queen has been a constant in our lives, unshakeable. She has provided strong leadership to this country in some very difficult and challenging times.”
Former Labour prime minister Sir Tony Blair said he is “deeply concerned” by the news about the Queen’s health.
“It is deeply concerning to hear today’s news from Buckingham Palace,” Sir Tony said in a statement posted to Twitter.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty the Queen and her family at this worrying time.”
Responding to a debate in the House of Lords, education minister Baroness Barran started by echoing the sentiments of concern felt around the chamber for the Queen.
The Tory frontbencher said she sent her “thoughts and prayers to Her Majesty the Queen and the royal family”.
Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau tweeted: “My thoughts, and the thoughts of Canadians across the country, are with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at this time. We’re wishing her well, and sending our best to the Royal Family.”
