A large police presence swarmed to an business park after an intruder tried to break into a shop.
Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to reports of a burglary at a business at Knowsley Business Park on Dixon Road, Kirkby. An eyewitness told the ECHO the business was building supplies shop Toolstation.
A large police presence was seen at the business park following reports of the burglary at around 10.30pm. Images shared with the ECHO showed at least three police vehicles.

But Merseyside Police added the intruder had failed to gain access to the building and left the scene before officers arrived.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO : "We can confirm we were called out to a reported burglary at a business in Kirkby last night, Thursday 1 December. At around 10.30pm, we received a report that an intruder had tried to break into a premises on Dixon Road, in Knowsley Business Park.
"Officers attended and it appears as though the intruder was unable to get into the building and left the scene."
