A Horfield man dealt cannabis so long ago by the time he was sentenced at court he was a changed person. For reasons unclear it took two years to deal with Anthony Lumber, who was caught with cannabis in April 2021.
The 29-year-old, of Eden Grove, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply. Judge Martin Picton handed him 15 months' jail suspended for 12 months.
The judge told him: "Dealing drugs is a serious crime and that's why the sentencing guidelines indicate a starting point of a year. You've turned your life around in two years....don't come back."

The judge told Lumber to carry out 120 hours' unpaid work. He ordered that drugs recovered in the case be destroyed and Lumber to be deprived of his then mobile phone.
Caitlin Evans, prosecuting, said police stopped a car as it was being driven too closely behind another vehicle. She told Bristol Crown Court that officers sensed the presence of cannabis and a search of the car recovered 710g of the Class B drug, valued at between £3,437 to £4,000, in a vacuum pack.
Analysis of Lumber's phone found drug-related messages, the court heard. Miss Evans said: "It seems he was selling cannabis in quite a large amount."
Rebecca Da Silva, defending, said: "Things have progressed in two years. He has turned his life around and has a stable relationship and employment.
"He has focused on him, his family and making good progress. He has not troubled the courts in that time."
