Police have shut down a large cannabis factory in the centre of Cardiff. South Wales Police broke the news in a statement issued late on Thursday night.
The force said it had successfully located and dismantled the site which was situated inside a property in the Richmond Road area of the city. A picture taken at the scene shows a large room filled with cannabis plants complete with a sophisticated growing setup including a variety of heat lamps, fans and a ventilation system.
Police estimate that the factory was filled with 400 cannabis plants. A man has been arrested and charged with the production of cannabis in connection to the raid.

In a statement issued online, the force said: "Another proactive result from the Cardiff Organised Crime Team, assisted by the (force's) Dog Section and Operation Sceptre Team. One male arrested and charged for production of Cannabis, after a 400 plant Cannabis factory was located & dismantled on Richmond Rd ^538 #TeamWork."
