Wrongful confinement: Madhya Pradesh high court orders DGP to pay Rs 10 lakh to jailed youth as 'drugs' found to be urea

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh high court has ordered the director general of police (DGP) to compensate a youth with Rs 10 lakh for his wrongful confinement after being falsely arrested by the Gwalior Police for possessing 'drugs.'

During laboratory examinations, the 'drugs' were found to be urea.

Rohit Tiwari was arrested on September 6, 2022 by the Morar police under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Arms Act.
