Police search for pensioner who vanished from Ayr home nine days ago

Police are appealing for help to find a Scots OAP who vanished from his home more than a week ago.

Robert Boyle was last seen at his home address in the St Leonards Road area of Ayr on Thursday, March 24, at around 1.30pm.

The 68-year-old is described as being 5ft 10in tall, of a medium build and has receding grey hair.

Officers say they do not currently know what he was wearing at the time of his disappearance but that he often carries a red and black rucksack.

The pensioner, who is known to frequently use public transport, has previously visited Glasgow and Irvine.

Sergeant Gary McGarvie said: “Robert is known to travel between Ayr, Irvine and Glasgow, often using public transport.

“While he can be away for a few days at a time being away for so long is out of character and we are keen to make contact with Robert to make sure he is safe and well.”

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2091 of Friday, 1 April, 2022.
