Edinburgh police have urged locals to keep an eye out for a missing Welsh man who is believed to have travelled to the capital.
Stephen Hopkins, 51, was last seen in Abergavenny in south Wales at around 11am on Monday August 1. Officers from Gwent Police say they are "concerned for his welfare" and had initially believed he may have travelled elsewhere in the country or to Bristol, 50 miles away.
However, Scots cops say they have received information suggesting Stephen may have travelled to Edinburgh. They have asked locals to report any potential sightings directly to the Welsh force.
Police Scotland, sharing the Gwent appeal on social media, said: "Stephen is believed be in the Edinburgh area, if you have any information then please contact using the below information."
Stephen is described as around 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, bald and clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a grey hoody, black shoes and a black coat.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for information to find Stephen Hopkins who has been reported as missing.
"Stephen, 51, was last seen in Abergavenny at around 11am on Monday 1 August and officers are concerned for his welfare.
"Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to call us on 101 or send us a direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2200259261."
