Police search for attacker after unprovoked assault on a father walking with his young son in Notting Hill

Police have launched a manhunt after a man was assaulted in the street in west London while walking with his three-year-old son.

The victim needed hospital treatment after the attack in Notting Hill just after 1pm on Saturday October 5.

Scotland Yard has issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after the victim was pushed to the floor on Westbourne Grove hitting his head on a wall which left him bleeding and with a fractured eye socket and heavy bruising.

The man has been discharged from hospital but will need more treatment. The child was unhurt but also attended hospital as a precaution.

Scotland Yard said the man in the image is a black male, of medium to large build, around the age of 40.

He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue trousers, with a pair of white trainers and a blue baseball cap.

Enquiries are ongoing but police say it appears at this stage to be an unprovoked attack.

If you recognise this man or have any information which could help, report it to police online or call 101 quoting 3239/05OCT24.

Alternatively it can be reported to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
