Police have ramped up patrols following reports of a gunman in an Oldham park. Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to Grotton Park just before 2pm yesterday (Wednesday February 22) after reports of a 'youth' seen with a 'suspected firearm'.
After searching the park and surrounding areas, police said they had 'not yet identified any criminal offences' but were aware the incident 'caused concern in the community'. Officers stated they want to 'reassure' residents that there will be a visible police presence in the area while enquiries continue.
